Announcement Confirming that Overwatch 2 Update is Delayed (Critical Issue)

Blizzard has confirmed that it will postpone a major Overwatch 2 update scheduled for November 15th. According to developer notes, the team should improve the hero's balance and introduce a new DPS character for him.

Free-to-play since its global release on October 4, 2022, Overwatch 2 has quickly captured the hearts of FPS-loving gamers. That said, the development team still seems to be facing a few non-trivial technical issues.

Overwatch 2 is now accessible on several platforms. There is also the issue of migrating older players (original version) to Overwatch 2. The list of playable heroes (locked and unlocked) is also much debated among players.

Some time ago, Blizzard had to remove Mei from Overwatch 2 due to a bug affecting the character's abilities. For fans of Overwatch 2, it's very disappointing to miss Mei, especially considering that the popular Damage is a solid opponent for her hero Genji.

May was then all set to return to the playable hero roster but now has to wait a little longer due to the delayed November 15th update. We are planning to launch Overwatch 2 Season 2 on December 6th. This update will be the debut of a new tank hero, Ramatra.

In an announcement confirming the delayed November 15th update for Overwatch 2, Blizzard said the patch encountered a "major issue," but didn't provide any details.

We plan to update the fans as soon as this is resolved but did not provide an ETA as to when that will be. Fans may be waiting for it a little longer, this time it's a guessing game.

Ultimately, this means Overwatch's character nerfs, Mei's return, etc. have all been postponed. It's interesting to note that Blizzard has removed many heroes from the game so far, with May being the latest victim.

The recently discovered bugs with damage hero Sombra and support hero Bridget could mean the next possibility on the list, but Blizzard hasn't announced any plans to remove them from the game. It looks like players and fans are waiting for the next Overwatch 2 update.
