Pokemon Officially Launches Global Beta for Pokemon (TCG)

Pokémon has officially launched the global beta of Pokémon Trading Card Game Live, TCG's wildly popular new online simulator.


The Pokémon Trading Card Game Live has officially launched a global beta test that allows players around the world to try out the new online app.




The Pokémon Company first unveiled TCG's new online simulator late last year (November) as an alternative to the existing Pokémon Trading Card Game Online.


Pokémon Trading Card Game Live is designed to help beginners learn how to play the game while allowing other players to improve and test their skills like building decks and battling other trainers around the world. 


It aims to provide new challenges for Players who can also participate in daily missions, events, content, and new features.


The Pokémon Trading Card Game was released as a free-to-play game, with content localized in English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, and Brazilian Portuguese.


The new online version of TCG is set to feature flashy animations and simplified "realistic" gameplay, allowing players to jump right in and play with friends online. Players now have their first chance to try a new card game.

This includes ranked leaderboards and a battle pass system to earn cosmetics and packages. The development team has confirmed that Live will replace Online as the primary client supported, while players will be able to migrate their full library to the new game.


The global beta debut of the Pokémon Trading Card Game Live faces stiff competition from a variety of other card games in the online TCG space. Konami releases Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel was a big hit earlier this year, breaking the record for a card game on Steam since its release in January. 


Wizards of the Coast, another of Pokémon's biggest physical TCG rivals, will also be online in Magic: The Gathering Arena. Pokemon TCG Live also competes with other digital-only card games such as Legends of Runeterra and Hearthstone, while his now-rising MMORPG game, Genshin Impact, is also preparing his TCG version.
