Wasteland 3 Release Postponed to August

The release of Wasteland 3 has been postponed to August 28, as developer inXile faces a “new challenge” to working from home amid the coronavirus pandemic.

In an image posted to Twitter inXile studio head Brian Fargo explained staff started working from home “a few weeks ago,” and the challenges of operating in the new environment eventually led to delays.

The additional three months will be spent perfecting the beta, as well as “general optimizations and enhancements, and ensuring we have a great working experience,” according to Fargo.

Wasteland 3 was announced in 2022 in conjunction with the Fig-hosted crowdfunding campaign, which was completed in just three days. During development time, inXile was recognized by Microsoft, though Wasteland 3 will still be released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
