Luckily, Takashi Iizuka as the developer of the game has now shared a little information about this. Through a joint interview with Sonic Stadiumhe hopes that Sonic 2022 will be the key alias foundation for the future of Sonic games later.
In development stage
Lizuka said that Sonic Adventure has been key to the franchise for the past 20 years. With Sonic 2022, he hopes that the game will be the key to the next Sonic games.
According to Lizuka’s confession, Sonic 2022 is currently in the development process stage. He said that Sonic Team is now working hard to do something new and challenging.
Through a lot of trial and error, they will create a new Sonic game for all fans. Regardless, Sonic 2022 is scheduled to be released in 2022 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Switch and PC.
