Metroid Dread will be the end of the story that starts from the first game

When it was first announced via E3 this year, Metroid Dread was labeled as Metroid 5 by Nintendo. This is certainly good news for fans who have been waiting for the sequel to the game for a long time.

But on the other hand, this is also bad news for fans who have enjoyed this franchise. How not, Nintendo has confirmed that Metroid Dread will be a sequel to the sequel as well as ending the storyline of this series.

Metroid Dread will be the end of the series!

Yoshio Sakamoto as the developer of the old Metroid appeared during the Nintendo Treehouse Live presentation session after Nintendo Direct E3 2022. During this session, he discussed various things about the Metroid series.

He discusses the story of the first Metroid that is connected with other Metroids, and Metroid Dread will be the end of the story of all the series. Even so, the presence of a new Metroid in the future certainly doesn’t just disappear.

Metroid’s future

Currently, Metroid Prime 4 itself is still in active development at Retro Studios for Nintendo Switch, and the three previous Metroid Prime games indicate that Nintendo is willing to move away from the main storyline of the franchise.

Regardless, Metroid Dread itself is scheduled to be released on October 8, 2022, exclusively for Nintendo Switch. What is your opinion about this? Give your feedback.
