Dev. Outriders Say Square Enix Hasn't Paid Royalties, Don't Know How Many Games Sold
Earlier this year, People Can Fly’s newest game, Outriders, was officially released for various platforms. Square Enix is known to have become the publisher of this FPS genre game.
Instead of coming with good news, now People Can Fly as the developer of the game said that Square Enix had not paid their royalties related to Outriders.
Square Enix has not paid royalties to Outriders devs
Even People Can Fly said that they don’t know how many of their newest games have been sold on the market. Square Enix still chooses to remain silent regarding this matter, even though it has been released for quite a while.
PCF Group, the parent company of People Can Fly, has not received any money from publisher Square Enix after the release of Outriders earlier this year. This was conveyed directly by People Can Fly on their site.
According to them, Square Enix has signed an agreement that will provide a portion of the profits from the game after the production, distribution, and promotion costs of the game have been covered.
No sales data revealed!
But unfortunately, until now Square Enix has not received any news at all, which indicates that Outriders has not met Square Enix’s expectations in terms of sales as previously promised.
On the other hand, People Can Fly itself did not get any data regarding their total game sales. Sebastian Wojciechowski, president of PCF Group, said that according to estimates, Outriders has sold more than 3 million copies to date.
Despite all that, Wojciechowski believes that in the future there will be a clear path between People Can Fly and Square Enix. They believed Square Enix could fulfill their promise in the next quarter and start paying the promised royalties.
