Yesterday, we shared information regarding a copy of the 1987 Legend of Zelda game. This game was sold for USD 870 thousand or equivalent to IDR 12.5 billion at auction. Heritage Auctions.

It could be said that this made 1987’s Legend of Zelda the most expensive game sold. This game managed to break the previous record that was achieved by a copy of Super Mario Bros. with a figure of USD 660 thousand or equivalent to IDR 9.5 billion.

Instead of sticking around as the most expensive game for a long time, this copy of Legend of Zelda: 1987 has now been eclipsed by a copy of Super Mario 64 through the same auction. It is known that the still sealed copy of Super Mario 64 sold for a much higher price.

This copy with a Wata rating of 9.8 A++ was able to sell for USD 1.56 million or the equivalent of IDR 22 billion. According to Watathis 9.8 A++ rating means it’s in Like new condition and, apart from getting a score of 10.0, is the best score a game can get.

This rating also beats Legend of Zelda which got a rating of 9.0 A. Auctions related to Nintendo have indeed become hot news in recent years.

A copy of Super Mario Bros. sold for USD 660 thousand in April 2022. Also, a prototype Nintendo PlayStation console was able to sell for USD 360 thousand previously.
