Tencent Dominates the Video Game Sector in 2022!

Recent reports confirm that Tencent Games will dominate the video game sector in 2022 by revenue. This Chinese game company managed to beat Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo.

This information comes from a well-known analyst – Daniel Ahmad. According to the report, Tencent’s revenue from the video game sector grew 9.9% YoY in 2022. This growth rose to USD 32.94 billion.

Tencent revenue dominates other game companies!

Tencent’s total revenue surpassed other giants such as Sony (USD 24.9 billion) and Microsoft (USD 16.3 billion) and Nintendo (USD 15.3 billion). This growth is certainly supported by the games on their Mobile platform.

Some of their games that contributed significantly to this growth were PUBG Mobile, Clash of Clans and Brawl Stars. In addition, Tencent also mentioned the names of League of Legends Wild Rift, Honor of Kings, Fight of the Golden Spatula to Pokemon Unite.

Netflix series Arcane also has a big role in Tencent’s huge success in the video game sector. Currently, they are developing several new games and animated series based on Honor of Kings.

According to a report from Daniel Ahmad, Tencent’s overseas game revenue from in-house developer titles and games from purchased or partnered studios increased to 26% in 2022. Tencent aims to increase it to 50% in the future.
