Tekken X Street Fighter Not Cancelled!

In a previous article, we have given a news confirming that Tekken X Street Fighter has been officially cancelled. This news itself comes from Harada and Ikeda as developers of the Tekken franchise.

Of course this news is quite surprising considering the crossover project between Tekken and Street Fighter was first announced in 2010 ago. However, until now, there is no clarity regarding the project.

Tekken and Street Fighter Collaboration

For those of you who don’t know, a decade ago Tekken and Street Fighter have agreed to collaborate to present Street Fighter X Tekken and Tekken X Street Fighter. In 2012, Street Fighter X Tekken was officially released.

Meanwhile, there is no news for Tekken X Street Fighter itself. Recently, Harada and Ikeda have also confirmed that the project has been officially canceled through the Harada’s Bar Studio event.

But now, Katsuhiro Harada has returned to the surface and confirmed that Tekken X Street Fighter was not canceled. He confirmed there was an English translation error stating that the project was cancelled.

The English translation wasn’t quite what Harada had in mind. Because of this, he made a clarification on this matter. Through Twitlonger, Harada explained that the development of Tekken X Street Fighter is only 30% running and is in progress.

Instead of being cancelled, the development of Tekken X Street Fighter has now been postponed. Harada also said that he was quite disappointed with the error in the translation into English. In fact, this is not the first time this has happened and has taken the community out of context.

Finally, Harada confirmed that the crossover project was not canceled, but postponed for now indefinitely. You can now play Tekken 7 and Street Fighter V on PlayStation 4 and PC.
