Devil May Cry Anime Now Free on PSN (US)

Whether you’ve tried Devil May Cry 5, which was released on March 8, 2022, or haven’t had the chance to try this new game, you’ll be happy to hear this news. Devil May Cry: The Animated Series is now available for free on the PlayStation Store.

If you’re thinking, I didn’t even know Devil May Cry had an Anime, here’s a quick overview. The DMC anime was released in Japan in 2007 and consists of 12 episodes. Set between Devil May Cry 1 and Devil May Cry 2, this anime follows demon hunter Dante, who runs his business and takes on odd jobs while trying to pay off his debts.

The film also introduces two main characters, namely JD Morrison, Dante’s agent who gives him a job offer, and Patty Lowell, an orphan who is cared for by Dante who later becomes his daughter. Morrison made his first appearance in the video game series in Devil May Cry 5, so you’ll have to watch the anime to understand the story of his past.

How do I view the Devil May Cry anime series on PSN?
The DMC anime is available for sale and viewing for free on the PlayStation store for now, but you can only access it through your PS4, not from the web store. The offer is also limited to North American stores (though some people on Reddit have commented that it’s not free in Canada).

To access the series, go to the PlayStation store on your PS4 and search for “Devil May Cry”. Anime will appear throughout the game. If you don’t see it there, try looking in the Movies and TV menu ~> tv Genre ~Anime, and sorting from A to Z to find Devil May Cry. Usually, this series costs $25, and it’s not clear how long it will be free, so don’t wait long if you’re interested in seeing it.
